Your Crucial Checklist When Moving In to Your New Home

Are you excited to move to your new home?  At last, your dream of having your own home is fulfilled.

1.    Ensure that all documents related to the house are in order.

6.    Renovate first before moving in.

When the house needs a total makeover, you have bought the wrong property. In instances when the house truly needs remodeling, you have to know how to strike a good bargain. The renovation fees should be deducted from the price of the property.

If you have to renovate, prepare the blueprint of your plans first. It would help if an interior designer will help you decorate your house. You ought to accomplish all the remodeling before you transfer. This way, you have all the space you need to work.

If you have a vehicle that can accommodate your things, you can start moving in the basic items first. Another option is to hire a moving truck. This can be more convenient because you can do it all in one go.

But if you have a big truck that you can use, then by all means, use it. Still, hiring expert movers can prevent damages to your appliances.


9.    Clean up and spruce up

After the remodeling is done, you can clean up and spruce up your home. Clean thoroughly from top to bottom because you don’t know when you can spare the time to do so.

10.    Change your address to the new one

Remember to change your old address to the new one. You could inform your family and trusted friends of your new abode. In addition, you have to edit your address in all of your online official accounts, such as PayPal, AdSense and Amazon.

Unclaimed payments may be sent to your old address, and it could be hard to recover, when lost. This is also to ensure that all communications are delivered to your new address. 


11.    Get to know your neighbors

It is good manners to introduce yourself to your neighbors. You can do this during the homeowners’ meetings. In other countries, they distribute rice cakes or pastries to greet their new neighbors; others hold a housewarming party.

You may want to modify any of these, as long as your neighbors will become aware that there’s a new member of the community.
